It follows a world of even deeper intrigue and trickery, as the characters fight their own battles while grappling with existential threats to the nation and the world. From X-Men: First Class and "The Acolyte" to The Cotton Club, check out the TV and film cast of "The Agency" starring Michael Fassbender, Jodie Turner-Smith, Richard Gere and more. Former CIA counterintelligence director James Jesus Angleton, aka the “poet-spy,” often described the intelligence game as a “wilderness of mirrors,” a phrase borrowed from a poem by T.S. Eliot.
Eliot called it Gerontion
In the world of Intelligence, in the search for truth, it is difficult to distinguish between reality and its reflection, an illusion, if you will, as if we were in a “hall of mirrors.” In a discussion with Martian Dr. Blake, “OBE” is incorrectly explained as “Overtaken by Events.” In U.S. government agencies, including the intelligence community and the Department of Defense, “OBE” is “Overtaken by Events.” The opening credits feature characters and scenes from the series interspersed with mirror panels. They are both incredibly underrated actors
Michael Fassbender is perfect for these roles, as is Jeffery Wright. Add Richard Gere and Katherine Waterston, and you have one of the most talented casts on TV. The show may start off slow for some, but stick with it because it picks up speed. It just takes time to build its world and characters, but if you don’t have the patience for slow, well-crafted shows, this isn’t for you.
I hope we get more seasons of this
The Agency does a great job of showing the costs and sacrifices that this workflow requires.
