M: Do you ever feel lonely?

Story

A man quits his job to take care of his dying grandmother, motivated by his wealth. He plans to win her favor before she dies. This is actually the debut film of 78-year-old housewife Usa Semkhum, who plays the role of grandmother Meng Yu. Amah: I wouldn’t call it loneliness.

It’s part of the process of life

Amah: I have a problem with the day after Chinese New Year. When all the leftovers from the previous night are in the fridge and I know I’ll have to eat them all alone. I originally watched this movie to support actor Billkin. But now I really like this movie, whether it’s the characters, the story, the production values, and everything that supports the making of this work.

It is important to remember that many more children and grandchildren, for various reasons, consciously or unconsciously, move away from their parents

M, with all his attitude and mindset that then leads to every conclusion and decision, really manages to present a character that is very relatable to most young people, especially me who lives in an Asian family. The story of this film reminded me that there are still many children and grandchildren who, as they grow up, slowly forget how much they were loved by their family. Also, the busy schedule outside the home and life with a new family made them increasingly forget how important it is to spend time with their parents. Meanwhile, parents always stay in one place, monitor the growth of their children, try to accept their strengths and weaknesses, and continue to love them from the bottom of their hearts.

This film offers a story about a family with various troubles. Without conflicts with big fights, but only thanks to the presentation of dialogues, simple scenes and the acting of each character managed to bring the audience into the story and put themselves in the same position, perhaps with M, Amah, M’s mother, Uncle Soei. Finally, this is the first time I write a review of a film. I am aware of my inability to express thoughts and opinions, but ultimately I highly recommend everyone to watch this film. THANK YOU.
