Lynch is wrong

The series moves the action to the present day. Quoted in Graham Norton i guesses: Denzel Washington/Paul Mescal/Saoirse Ronan/Eddie Redmayne/Blossoms (2024). TLDR: Redmayne hits the nail on the head.

Overall, the story is a serviceable adaptation

Unfortunately, the main actors are not on par, which detracts from the otherwise spectacular and high-quality production. Nothing against Lynch, but Redmayne has set the bar high. A more experienced actor might have provided a more believable counterpart/antagonist character needed to challenge the Jackal.

The deception barometer is running in the background the whole time

The character development works reasonably well, although some things are left open in the main characters’ narratives, but that might be intentional. The locations, varied interactions, and Redmayne’s use of languages ​​ and character switching really add a special layer to the story arc. I look forward to seeing how Se01 ends and how the quality is maintained or improved in Se02.

If she does, Se02 could be quite promising

Hopefully Lynch will let up to seem less forced and provide a more nuanced performance to match Redmayne.
